In 1942 with the construction of the Air Force base, and the resulting destruction of their house, the Johns moved to the area where Mat Law Drive is today.

Mary law was a member of the Smyrna Presbyterian church and became a member on their roles in 1917. She was an alumnus of the 1926 Smyrna High School graduating class.
