Johnny B. Richardson was born and raised in Smyrna. During the 50’s W.E.Carter said “"John I am naming this street after you." It is said to be the first street in Smyrna named after an African American. Johnny Richardson worked for the railroad and later managed the Mobil gas station on Lowry Street.
